The game controls consists of an eight-way joystick and two buttons: one for shooting enemies in the air and the other for dropping bombs to ground enemies (similarly to Xevious). The player takes control of a cartoon-like anthropomorphic spacecraft, with Player 1 taking control of TwinBee, the titular ship, while Player 2 controls WinBee.
Twinbee games Pc#
I also have the PC Engine version of Detana!! TwinBee (although no japanese PC Engine to play it on) and TwinBee Taisen Puzzle Dama for the PlayStation.TwinBee can be played by up to 2-players simultaneously. I’m grateful to have gotten the games in the series I had gotten in 2007 when I had become a newfound fan of the series around the same time. Heck, this might cause a bit of controversy, but when it comes to Konami franchises, I think I like TwinBee more than Castlevania, Contra or Metal Gear (but I am not sure about Gradius, Salamander/Lifeforce or Snatcher ). Having recently bought the ACA Switch edition of Bells & Whistles (an english version of “Detana!! TwinBee” released in european territories), it is making me revisit the series. I am glad that they have the original TwinBee and Pop’n TwinBee on the NES and SNES services for the Nintendo Switch. It’s good to see that some of the games have been getting re-released in the US in recent years since many of them didn’t get a US release originally.
Twinbee games portable#
I had also gotten TwinBee Portable fo the PSP when it was brand new during this time, which is a compilation of older titles in the series. The former of the two games for the Super Famicom is one of the best games ever released for the system I think. I had found several games in the series for affordable prices during this time, including both loose and complete copies of Pop’n TwinBee and TwinBee Rainbow Bell Adventure for the Super Famicom. And from there on I downloaded a few other TwinBee games, and bought physical copies of many of them during the same time, starting with TwinBee Deluxe Pack for the Sega Saturn. I found the latter to be really addicting. I downloaded arcade ROM sets for the original TwinBee from 1985, and TwinBee Yahho!!. I was looking for a Konami franchise I hadn’t had the time to explore yet, and randomly I started checking out TwinBee. I remember I was on another Konami binge and once again revisiting their older classics such as Castlevania, Contra, Gyruss, Track & Field, TMNT, Sunset Riders, Lethal Enforcers, and even Snatcher among others.
Twinbee games full#
However it wasn’t until 2007 that I had started getting into the TwinBee series full on. I first discovered the series in 1998, and the first in the series I played was Stinger on the NES that same year.

TwinBee is another one of those franchises that I knew about for a long time but didn’t really get into or become a fan of until much later on.
